Information provided by: Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services The Diversion Program is offered to first-offense Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) offenders in Sarpy County, Nebraska. The program is made available through the Sarpy County Attorney's office. The Diversion Program is eighteen months in duration, the client only being active in the program for a period of six months. The additional twelve-month time frame is that time in which if another alcohol-related offense is committed, the courts will then file on both charges - the new arrest and the original DWI.

The Victim Witness Unit has a LUSCI-managed grant for a facility dog who is located in the Sarpy County Attorney’s Office. The dog, Manny, has specific training through Canine Companions for Independence to assist individuals with physical, psychological, and emotional trauma due to criminal conduct and is able to calm people who have to be exposed the court process. In 2015, Manny was involved in 72 criminal cases and had contact with 123 crime victims. Funding assists by paying for Manny's food and annual vet care.
